Patterns of Creativity in Japan Lessons from Successful Japanese Companies – A Resource

Work With Those You Know

Do not rely on a super-creative individual – use project teams to navigate highly non-linear development processes where all group members generate ideas collaboratively.

Working with people you know intimately facilitates communication and intuitive collaboration. It also makes it easier to take risks.

Example: Companies in the software industry in Japan usually concentrate most work in-house or with long-term collaborators. Routine or relatively unimportant tasks are outsourced to more distant companies.
